Tenant has to prove reception of rent-increase refusal

In a ruling made this winter by Administrative Judge Sophie Alain, the Régie du logement invalidated a tenant’s rent-increase refusal notice. In so doing, the Régie terminated the lease unless the monthly increase of $5 for five months was paid.
