On November 9, during a hearing of the Régie du Logement’s administrators in a parliamentary committee, the Member of Parliament for Blainville, Mario Laframboise (Coalition Avenir Québec), questioned the Régie du Logement’s director about the possibility of allowing landlords to require a security deposit upon signing a lease. This hearing was intended to hear the Régie du Logement, following the recent report of the Auditor General of Quebec, who has carried out inquiries in order to assess and understand the problem of long delays plaguing the Court for many years.
