Towards greater flexibility for TAL signatories

With the adoption of Bill 31 on February 21, 2024, the rules governing representation at the Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL) have become more flexible. Henceforth, the new articles 72 and 74 of the TAL Act allow any mandated person, except a disbarred professional, to represent a party. Previously, only the spouse, a lawyer or a close relative (in the event of illness or distance, for example) could fulfill this role.
