Warning of a fraud targeting tenants

Last December, CORPIQ alerted its network of 30,000 landlords and managers of Quebec's rental housing stock of a fraud targeting tenants.

A scheme inciting tenants to urgently pay the monthly rent through a communication that could be similar to a message from the landlord.

It appears that fraudsters are continuing this type of phishing scheme towards tenants. We invite landlords to alert their tenants to the existence of this fraud tactic and to remind them of the terms and conditions surrounding your communication processes and financial follow-ups.
