Appointment of the New Minister Responsible for Housing
News
The Corporation des propriétaires immobiliers du Québec (CORPIQ) is pleased with the nomination of France-Élaine Duranceau as Minister of Housing and offers her full collaboration for all the files of the housing sector, and this, in a context where the stakes are numerous and require a concerted intervention of all the actors.
Let us recall that multiple challenges affect rental landlords in Quebec and that several regions of Quebec are confronted with an imbalance in housing supply and demand. The appointment of a Minister of Housing by the Government of Quebec is therefore a wise decision for this new governmental mandate.
Last September, CORPIQ had evoked the wish to create a Ministry of Housing in its brief aimed at modernizing the laws and re-launching various work sites in the housing sector. Today, we are therefore pleased that this call from several partners has been heard and we hope that the next step will be to bring together all the players within the framework of the États généraux sur l'habitation in 2023.
