A Look Back at the Most Frequently Asked Questions in Property Management
During a virtual meeting on April 21, CORPIQ presented the most frequently asked questions in real estate management to hundreds of participants.
It was from the comfort of their homes that CORPIQ members got answers to the most frequently asked questions to CORPIQ’s advisors. Kevin Buche, Director of Operations, and Joseph Araj, Property Management Advisor, offered a 1 hour session clarifying several points raised by Quebec landlords and building managers.
- I would like to evict a tenant for renovation, do I have the right to do so?
- My tenant has abandoned his dwelling. What can I do?
- How do I get my dwelling back?
- My tenant has sent me a notice stipulating that he wants to terminate his lease before the end of the term, justifying it because he has been admitted to a CHSLD. Does he have the right?
- I would like someone to explain to me how a security deposit can be considered legal.
- I have received a notice of assignment of lease. What is this and why does it matter to me as a landlord?
- The tenant is not following the terms of the lease. I have prohibited pets in the dwelling and smoking in this particular lease. Since the property is not considered a non-smoking building and since some people are allowed pets, I guess I can't do anything?
- I have not yet received the payment for the month of April. The tenant is withholding his rent because I put off repairs until later. Is he allowed to do this and if not, what can I do?
