Indeed, the Quebec government announced last month an interest-free loan program up to a maximum of $1,500. Eligible tenants wishing to apply must fill out a form on the SHQ website and when the application is accepted, the money is paid directly to the landlord, as requested by CORPIQ.
In addition, as the moving season approaches, the government has also announced a support program for temporary accommodation. This program is aimed at households unable to access their new home because of COVID-19. It provides financial assistance of $75 per day of temporary accommodation to a maximum of $4,000, plus a maximum of $1,000 for storage of goods. Eligible individuals can apply directly on the SHQ website.
