The SHQ makes the temporary accommodation support program available to the public

Households unable to access their new dwelling because of COVID-19 can now register for the new Quebec government program "Financial support for households awaiting their residence (property or dwelling)".

Households unable to access their new dwelling because of COVID-19 can now register for the new Quebec government program "Financial support for households awaiting their residence (property or dwelling)".

The financial assistance is $75 per day of temporary accommodation, up to a maximum of $4,000, plus a maximum of $1,000 for storage.

CORPIQ welcomed the announcement of this measure by the Minister of Housing on April 29, since it will help mitigate the risks if tenants do not vacate their unit on the scheduled date because their next unit is not ready. This program is not only for situations where the delivery of a new or renovated home is delayed due to an interruption in the construction industry for more than a month. It may also include other cases where moving in is not possible due to the COVID-19 crisis.
