Unsubscribing from electricity services: a new tool to stay informed

Since April 1st, Hydro-Québec can cut the power in a dwelling without prior notice, the same day of a tenant’s cancellation of its electricity services. In return, property owners can now pre-register on the Crown corporation's website if they want to maintain power at their expense, or not. Failing to specify this preference will result in an interruption, which is not without risk for the building, especially in winter.
