The SHQ wants to acquire the means to determine its clientele’s revenue

During the detailed study of Bill 67, the Société d'habitation du Québec claimed the right to require proof of income from tenants living in affordable housing buildings built with AccèsLogis subsidies.
Currently, there is no regulation allowing household income to be obtained, except at the time of the initial application, which means that there are households who occupy subsidized housing without being entitled to it.
This request follows the Auditor General's report last October, which criticized the SHQ for not adequately assuming its responsibilities with respect to the management of the AccèsLogis program. Indeed, according to the AG, "Several units are occupied by households whose income can hardly be described as modest."
